Weisi Xie is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prior to joining Shanghai Jiao Tong University, he had worked as a research assistant at the Carl McGuire Center for International Studies at CU-Boulder and as a research fellow at the Economic Research Division at the World Trade Organization.

He obtained his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and his B.A. in Economics from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. 

His research has mainly focused on International Trade, Economic Development, and Applied Microeconomics.
