Dr. Anna-Katharina Schaper works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair for Family Business Culture and Ownership at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Before joining TUM, she worked at the Chair of China Business and Economics at the University of Würzburg. Dr. Schaper’s research focuses on entrepreneurship, family business, and entrepreneurial families in global contexts. Her research has been presented at leading global research conferences and has received awards. Dr. Schaper regularly teaches at TUM courses on family business and entrepreneurship in China and Germany in leading international executive education programs (e.g., Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University).

Dr. Schaper was a visiting scholar at Peking University, Babson College, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Her research stays at Peking University and Babson College were funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Dr. Anna-Katharina Schaper holds a doctorate in Business Management from the University of Würzburg (Chair for China Business and Economics). In her doctoral dissertation, she contextualized women’s entrepreneurship in China. She holds a BA in Political Science and Economics from Heidelberg University and an MSc in China Business and Economics from the University of Würzburg.
