John D. Van Fleet has 20 years’ experience in the academic sector, in roles from program director to Assistant Dean. Van Fleet serves as Director of Corporate Globalization at Antai College of Economic and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he focuses on corporate interface and development for the students and the faculty of the College.
Starting in 2003, Van Fleet served as founding Executive Director and Assistant Dean at the USC Marshall-SJTU Antai Global Executive MBA in Shanghai. He held this role until 2018, and he has served at the Antai College ever since, including a two-year assignment as interim director of the MIT-SJTU China Leaders for Global Operations program.
Previous to his academic career, Van Fleet spent nearly 20 years in the private sector, based in Japan and China, serving multinationals as well as startups.
Van Fleet holds an undergraduate degree in English literature and an MBA, both from the University of Southern California. He supports the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, as Vice Chair of the Education Committee.
